Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen

Along for the Ride is being adapted by Netflix by the same team that did 'To all the Boys I've loved before'.

It's currently available in the library in print, online via SORA and as an audiobook on SORA.

Read it before seeing the movie.

Auden has always felt like the odd one out. Since her parents' divorce she's shied away, studying lots and staying out of the party scene. But now Auden's realized there must be something more and, just like that, she changes everything. Moving to her dad's house opens up a whole new world of beach parties, food fights - and simply having fun. As she gets to know herself - and a secretive boy with dark, brooding eyes - can Auden begin to let go and finally feel like she truly belongs?

Love and Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch

I absolutely adored Love and Gelato!

It is a cute novel about 16-year-old Lina who moves to Italy to her so-called father who hadn't made an effort to be in her life. Lina gains precious memories on a journey throughout her stay. With the help of her mother's journal she discovers the power she has
within!

I totally recommend this book for people who enjoy stories with  drama, mystery, adventure and love!

Enola Holmes by Nancy Springer has now been made into a film for Netflix. Based on the first book in the series, Enola, the younger sister of Sherlock Holmes goes on an adventure to find her missing mother.

The Enola Holmes books are on order and will be available from the school library in Term 4.

Goodreads Review:

When Enola Holmes, the much younger sister of detective Sherlock Holmes, discovers her mother has disappeared—on her 14th birthday nonetheless—she knows she alone can find her. Disguising herself as a grieving widow, Enola sets out to the heart of London to uncover her mother’s whereabouts—but not even the last name Holmes can prepare her for what awaits. Suddenly involved in the kidnapping of the young Marquess of Basilwether, Enola must escape murderous villains, free the spoiled Marquess, and perhaps hardest of all, elude her shrewd older brother—all while collecting clues to her mother’s disappearance!

Artemis Fowl

The Artemis Fowl movie remake is debuting on Disney + on 12 June. Originally scheduled to screen in cinemas, the movie will now be released on Disney's streaming platform. Based on the first book of the series by Eoin Colfer, Artemis Fowl is a 12 year old criminal mastermind.

The film has had a lot of controversial comments regarding re-writing of the original storyline. Watch it for yourself and decide - is the remake better or worse than the original?
